Gig Roundup Week 26 of 2024
Lots of my favorite local acts are playing this week... which ones are you going to be able to catch?
This week was a big one for me, filled with lifelong favorite acts, TikTok discoveries, and some local faves. I started the week off with the girls, meaning seeing The Living Roomers, Trophy Wife and Torture and the Desert Spiders at Heaven Can Wait, to say I was impressed would somehow be an understatement. Every act was incredible, and if you missed out cause it was a Monday, The Living Roomers are playing again this week FOR FREE with NAUTICS at Niagara on Wednesday… so you have no excuse to miss out on that one. Then Friday was a doubleheader night for me, I caught Sample Size at Bowery Electric and then made it over to Baby’s All Right for Been Stellar’s VERY late-night album release show for Scream From New York.

My Saturday and Sunday featured my favorite emo/pop punk band from my childhood, The Early November, and one of my top lockdown TikTok discoveries in Australian pop princess, Peach PRC. It was a super well-rounded week if I do say so myself lol. But that’s enough about me and my going ons, we have a big week of shows ahead of us, a lot of incredible acts to catch so let’s look at who’s putting on shows this week!
Shows to catch this week
I’m really excited about the gigs happening this week. A lot of favorites are playing at some really cool venues, so I’m looking forward to y’all catching some of these shows this week as well. Start the week off right on Tuesday either with this week’s Unplugged, which has an epic lineup featuring Pepsi and Summer Fling. Or head to Bowery Electric to see Not Enemies play for only $10. As I already mentioned, The Living Roomers and Nautics are playing for free on Wednesday, so have a nice midweek rock show moment with them at Niagara.

Then Friday Tennis Courts are hitting Alphaville amid a pretty extensive summer tour. Saturday is Cry Baby’s album release show at Union Pool with support from Long and Wilmah. And to round out the week, Sunday has Middle Part ending a short tour with Cathedral Bells playing a homecoming show at Union Pool!
I’ve also heard rumblings of a Pan Arcadia rooftop show on Saturday so keep an eye on their Instagram for info on that! There also is a day to night party being put on by Tower Records featuring local faves, Telescreens, that you need to RSVP to, to possibly win access to the indoor night section of the gig.
New releases this week
Along with Been Stellar releasing their debut album in scream from new york, there also were some great singles dropped by some really talented artists.
If you’ve seen Sample Size at all over the past few months of me harassing y’all to catch them playing, you’ve definitely heard them play Heavy Happy, their latest single. This is one of my faves that they play, so I’m very excited to add this to my summer playlists.
Another artist I’ve really been enjoying is Couch Prints, and their latest release is a really upbeat bop. I love finding these more pop leaning artists locally. It’s so fun that pop music can be explored this way and discovered at a local level.
The last new release I want to put on your radar is the latest Jordan Dean song. Fans of Declan McKenna and The Kooks looking for something new and exciting, let me put you onto this NYC based act. With every single he drops I’m somehow transported back to London in 2012 and I love every second of it.
So… a lot to listen to, a lot to leave your house for, even in this insane heat. We have a big week a head of us and I really hope to catch some of y’all at a rock (or pop…) show this week!
As per usual if you have a show coming up you want on my radar, or a song/album coming out you want me to know about, shoot me an email at hey@sarafeigin.com or slide in my DMs!
Til next time! Catch ya at a rock show this week :)
xoxo Sara
